There are all kinds of families

It's Friday and Kayla continues to hold her own -- no better but no worse, so for that we are thankful, and more confident than ever that we'll make it to our Wed. appointment.

Grace is coming over for dinner tonight.  Chicken parm and pasta are on the menu, along with catching up on each other's lives and giving her some quality time with her sister (Kayla).
Since Grace is our adopted daughter (mind you, she has wonderful parents of her own, but she adopted us as a second set of parents while at ISU, so she has her fabulous parents plus a spare set -- us -- and promises to take care of all four of us in our old age) she and Kayla are sisters.  They are very special sisters who love each other and do not fight with each other or vie for our attention like regular sisters often do.  So when Grace heard about Kayla's struggles, she created this image for us on Facebook, and which is adorably sweet, and which I share here:

When we go to Aurora on Wednesday we will be nearby to where Grace's parents live in Naperville.  So if all goes well with the vet and Kayla isn't too worn out from her poking/prodding, we will try to hop over to N'ville and see them, maybe for an early supper or something.  The nice thing is that we love Grace's parents, they are dear friends, and we get along well with them, so when we are old and feeble and being cared for by Grace, we'll all get along and have fun together.  As long as Grace remembers to come over and change our adult diapers every once in a while.
