A good day

Taking this a day at a time ... happy that Kayla is having a good day so far today.

Friday she was worse than Thursday, Saturday she was worse than Friday.  Sunday and Monday each worse than the day before.  But yesterday she was not worse than Monday, and today she is about the same.  Maybe even a bit better than Monday.  Happy, perky, walking with fewer stumbles, and staying up on her feet for longer periods of time. My sister and niece do Reiki, and are doing "remote Reiki" on her.  Perhaps it's helping?

We are not being unrealistic.  We know this is serious and possibly the beginning of something tragic.  She still can't go up or down the stairs without help.  She still slips on linoleum. But we are celebrating good days and cherishing our moments with her.  Like this morning when we let her out and she rubbed her face in the snow like she always does.

And at this rate we'll make it just fine to next Wednesday's appointment and won't have to go up there as an ER case.  And then we'll get some answers.

One day at a time.

  1. What you are experiencing reminds me of those days when we were going back and forth taking you to doctors, and waiting with fear, dread, and protective love, for a diagnosis of what turned out to be your arthritis. You are so right - it's a journey of "a day at a time". Being parents is a privilege - but not always easy.
