Bob and Mom left for church to attend the 2nd to last session of "Living the Questions." I slept in a bit and will join them in time for the service at 10am. Then I have a meeting after the service for the Lectureship Committee, (we are bringing Robin Meyers to speak here Oct. 29 and 30, 2010). He of Saving Jesus from the Church fame. Then we will go out to lunch after the meeting, after which I will continue crashing and burning at home for the afternoon. And maybe do some laundry. Thank goddess we have Study Leave this coming week -- I don't think I could face a regular work week. We have two books to read -- the aforementioned Saving Jesus and Karen Armstrong's A Case for God. Hopefully I can get them both finished by July 20 -- that's the plan anyway.
Bob is doing the Reflection this morning, of course, and next Sunday Ben is leading the service. Then we worship with the Unitarians on July 25 and I don't have to preach again until Aug. 1. By then I hope to have something profound and thoughtful to share about GA. Thankfully today is not the day for me to "reflect" on GA, as I'd probably end up sounding like a cross between Lewis Black and "Oh really?!?" with Seth and Amy. Which, now that I think about it, could be fun ...
But don't scare Art White again...
